This is the part where I say something nice about myself in the third person. Stand by
It's been said of Benj Heard that his eyes are like deep pools that capture the soul, but they're also the windows to the soul, so that metaphor doesn't work. The youngest of 6 kids, he was coerced into being the 6th part harmony in a sextet with his siblings (it means a group of 6 singers, get your mind out of the gutter). The languid chords and melodies of 40's, 50's, and 60's music filled his childhood home, influencing his *questionable* musical choices to this day.
Upon finishing college with a shiny new BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Benj began furiously adulting with a full time job as an Aerospace Structural Engineer for the US Air Force. He genuinely hopes you are impressed. It was during this time that he decided that a lifelong career, with a steady paycheck, health benefits, retirement, stability, untold wealth, and again, stability, was for fools. In 2010, he retired, but the Air Force stubbornly insisted on calling it a "resignation", stating that 2.5 years of service, although commendable, did not meet the minimum federal requirement. There's more to the story, but his biographer is tired of typing.
